Do quests, If you do them all you will end up with a ton of skills. Otherwise you have to buy them.

Fire is good, but I recommend trying the other elements as well. Mix and match.

Keep in mind, while fire is powerful through 90% of the game, in the last mission, its useless unless somebody in your group has winter. I found Air to be amusing with Thunderclap, and earth has great defense boosts. But dont mix and match. If you go fire, do it all the way.

Don't go one magic all the way. I'm not really an elementalist specialist, but I know the game very well. You can always do something like this with your attbribs. (only if you use your first prof maigcs).
attrib X : 9+1 attrib Y : 9+1 attrib Z : 12+3+1 |

Anyone who tells you to mix and match elements is dilusional...
Use one element... You only use one Rod/staff... and if you use two, its for an energy boost or a dif. regen etc... IF You were to mix, it'd be for water hexes, and air spells that do more BECAUSE of that... But you don't evenly balance the two... As for which class to pick... Its up to you, go to the homepage of GWGURU, and go through the Skill listings of Ele's... You can see ALL the fire/water/air/earth/etc... You can make the choice from there. |

What I am saying is experiment. Try more than one element at a time. I have and it works well if you know the skills and how to use them. If you want to stay with just one .... fine. Different scenarios require different solutions, and if you want to be good at your profession it's better to not be one dimensional. |

I'd certainly say use more than one element. Use 2 + energy storage would be my recommendation. There's no point wasting half your attribute points simply because "my rod only supports one". Some rods support none, should that mean you use no spells because it only has health mods on it?
The key is not to just think "that spell looks good, and that, and I think I'll take that too", you need to think "ok this spell knocks down, and this one does more damage to knocked down opponents, so if I take them both and use one after the other.... oh and this one will help out like this...". Make it so the skills work together, instead of one their own. OR go one magic, one from your secondary profession, if one of the lines will work well with it (for example E/R: Kindle Arrows + Conjure Flame = much damage) |

Hey,
Im still quite new to the game but got a lvl 12 fire ele/necro. I use fire at the moment simply because the skills I have amassed seem to be mostly about doing damage which is why I chose the ele, to be a nuker. Its great I kill things with direct fire dmg and then summon minions from their corpses or do more dmg to other by making corpses explode (putrid explosion ftw!) The other skills so far seem to be more defensive in nature. I have sunk all my attri points into fire so far and is shaping up to be good. Just do all the quests and you unlock the skills as you go along, there are a few you can buy which are great, like Phoenix and Immolate |
